Filter Multi Resource Scheduling Board to jobs currently at that Resource Group

Hi guys,

Production Control has asked to filter the MSRB to only the jobs that are at the resource group ready for work. I started working on a BAQ Search, but got stuck trying to find some flag or logic that will exclude all jobs other than what’s at that resource group currently.

After selecting a resource group, the gantt chart shows all jobs that have that RG somewhere in the process, which makes it way too cluttered (800 jobs in WIP with 8 week lead times and 5-20 operation long MOM’s).

Carlos Yanez (sp?) at Insights suggested a WIP field in an AMM table, but I wasn’t able to find it back home.

Have the users played around with the user preferences to see if that gets them the information they need?

Hi John,

Thanks for the response. What preference would let us filter out the jobs that are at other machines? I took a look at the User Preferences (Scheduling Board Preferences), and didn’t see anything obvious.

That’s a neat idea if I could add a radio button for “In Department” to the personalization window or next to the start/end dates, but I’m not sure what field/logic I could use to do that.

Thanks for the help.

I’m not sure what the exact requirements are so I can’t say what preference to use. I would suggest the users play around with the options to see if that gets them to their requirements. I always push the out of the box functionality before customizing. I make the users prove the system cannot meet their needs as is before I look elsewhere.

Hi John - The specific requirement is to only show the 50 jobs currently at that resource group - i.e. filter out the other 750 jobs that are at other resource groups. MRSB doesn’t seem to have an out of the box filter that can do it, so I was hoping to do it with a BAQ Search in the selection window, with a bit of advice.

Just wondering why you are using the Multi-Resource Scheduling Board and not the Resource Scheduling Board if you are wanting to see the jobs for only the single resource?
