I am running into an issue where my resource group has 4 machines, and the finite scheduling is only scheduling the 1st machine, and pushing everything out, instead of scheduling the available capacity on the other 3 resources. I have changed the horizon, capacity settings, etc. Im unsure where to go from here. Scheduling block is set to 1 as well.
Have you checked the full hierarchy of Finite Scheduling? I believe it starts at Site, it’s been a while since I did it. @Gil_V has a lot of really good posts on the site for Finite Scheduling.
Have you downloaded the Scheduling Technical Reference Guide? That provides a lot of information. I would start with that and then use this site (search the E10 area too) to find old posts as there is a lot of information available and scheduling is very complex.
if you want the load to be distributed among recourses within the group, as each resource will start and end an operation in parallel i.e. operation will not be done by more than one resource in the group, then one way for doing this is as per the following:
each operation that linked to this resource group/resources must set up and defined to the resource group -only- under the scheduling requirement of the part/job BOO, i.e. nothing under resources.
each of these resources need to use its own production calendar - you can use the same one for all of them or different, depends on your environment- the main thing is no production calendar defined /set under its recourse group level.
