Flavor distribution of a wholesale club jar of Starburst original - original research

I buy the jar of Starburst for Sam’s Club, which according to the label contains about 318 candies (53 servings of 6 each).

Naturally, I only eat exactly one of each flavor if I have any at all.

This means that when I run out of a flavor, I can determine how many of the other flavors are left over. I’ve done this the last 3 times, so I thought I’d share the results.

My personal favorite is pink. Pink is never the dominant flavor. Figures.

I hope this advances humanity.

For some reason, my wife thinks I’m crazy when I do things like this

I do the same with M&Ms, except I eat the odd number to leave pairs then eat a pair at a time until I have the same number of pairs. Not a psychopath at all…

Some years ago my wife asked me how I was feeling, and I replied with “I am functioning within normal parameters.”

I got the strangest look…

At least you didn’t say “I am working as designed.”

And a special edit for @klincecum - Don’t you :dumpster_fire: me Mister. I am the Court Jester.

May’s winner/loser was yellow at 28 out of balance. This month is orange also at 28 off.

Still never pink with the most. It is a conspiracy.

The existence of Starburst Favereds is surely contributing to this imbalance.

Really want starburst now.

This whole thread makes me feel so much more ‘standard’

I consider myself substandard on a regular basis.

They probably cost more, so to keep the price in check they have to adjust it… maybe? I’m thinking the cost of dyes on paper and dye in the food.

Those look more like Red than Orange to me. Are you sure they were orange?? I prefer the orange to the red…just sayin’

How do you know that people are not sneaking in and stealing some? :man_detective:

Ha, and if only you know how much I fiddled with the photo settings to make it look less red! It always comes out red in the picture! You feel my pain.

But it does say “orange” (the flavor) on the wrappers, which I have to say I don’t think I ever noticed that before.

Wha?!

Scientific studies can never be corrupted. Impossible.

I looked back at the picture this morning and now they look orange…lol! I’m sure it’s the lighting playing havoc with the picture on the screen. Couldn’t be my eyes…HaHaHa!

Fun fact, did you know that the the color orange is really just light brown?

20 minute video going into this weird fact. Figured this particular group of nerds would appreciate this type of video.
