Sales forecasts are entered by part. Look in the "part" master file under
the part pull down. Forecast is one of the options. We do both make to
order and make to stock. The forecast drives our MRP requirements for the
made to stock items.
As for what it does, the answer is precious little. We purchased a
"forecast import utility" to let us do the forecast in excel and import into
Vantage. If you have many items to forecast it is the only way to go.
Manual input takes waaaaaaaaay to long.
Don't get me wrong, it works fine. However, it is sorely lacking in any
real depth or ease of use features. The import utility is the only thing
that makes it work for us since we forecast hundreds of items. One of those
little features that was over sold and under delivered. We are on 5.1, I
have not checked it out in 6.0 yet.

Does anybody use forcasting in Vantage? Where is it and what exactly does
it do for you?
Thanks,
Jasper
