As an aside, we have the Chinese Language Pack.  It changes screens as well as report labels.

I have a bad feeling I know what you are all going to say to me on this but I thought I would ask regardless.

We have a small satellite sales office in Brazil.  They want to know how easy it is to convert the SSRS reports/forms in Portuguese.

1)      Are there pre-defined forms in other languages

2)      If not, how have others translated these forms to be used in other countries

Muito bom!

 

What I’ve done is simply send the English form to a bilingual knowledgeable person and had them handwrite literal translations next to my form labels.  Then I made a new report style for them.

If you want take advantage of Epicor's translations...

Use Report Literals instead of hard-coded text. The hard-coded text won't be translated but the Report Literals are, if they appear in the language txt file, which most do. If they don't, perhaps because someone changed them, you can easily add more literals to the Report Definition. Just check the language files to ensure they appear there. An example of a language file is:

...Epicor905deu905702_2013-10-09.txt.

Expand the heading sizes to the longest of whatever languages you're using. Alternatively, you can use shorter abbreviations. By so doing, you only have one report to support for all languages.

And remember that date/number formats differ also which are taken from the user's culture, not language. In Crystal, these work if you use the standard formats, not custom. Don't know about SSRS.

Remember Epicor converts the language automatically based on the user's language but can be overridden on the Customer/Supplier/Country.
