Bring back January!
Can we submit an Idea to just get better users instead?
I remember being in high school thinking, it will be amazing in 25 years when everyone I work with has grown up around computers and knows how to use them.
Well, here we are, and…
I mean, I don’t think this is a user issue. Every time I go to use the date picker I have to consciously think about why January isn’t there. That’s terrible UI design.
I mean… I hear you. It’s worthy of consideration.
But this is actually ancient classic design philosophy. Nearly every English Bible skips enumerating verse number 1 - it’s understood that the first verse of the chapter is verse 1. At the same time, the chapter number is a drop cap, meaning it is huge compared to the rest of the text.
They did the same thing with January here.
I get it, it’s not the 1600’s anymore - most people don’t obsess about fonts like I do.
I’m just saying, it’s not unheard of to do it like this.
That may very well be, but the fact that users find it confusing makes it a bad choice.
I think you are on the winning side of this argument. I’m just a design snob.
