Here’s my idea: Change field format behaviour: “x(1000)” should not mean “unlimited”
As I’ve found out recently when defining a fields format of “x(1000)” in Extended Property Maintenance, Kinetic does not enforce the character limit.
e.g. You can set the OrderHed.OrderComment format to x(1000) but still able to enter 15,000+ characters!!
Looks like it’s been discussed before as well: Change in Field Default Format x(1000) behavior noticed on ECOOpr.CommentText (limited to 1000 chars in front end)
This is because from legacy coding dating back to E9, where “x(1000)” is treated as “unlimited”
