Fusion Flash Drives

Hi Pim,

Thank you for your reply.

Is there any way to get more information from your customer whether they
are satisfied with the performance?

Not quite the same, but I know one of our customers is running a VDI
server
using a Fusion IO card. This VDI server runs their Epicor 9 client
software.

I've been tasked with getting APM up and running, first for sending invoices and soon for sending POs. I've read quite a bit and it seems relatively straightforward.

The issue is that APM was set up by remotely by Epicor 18 months ago, long before our actual go-live. Since then we've upgraded from 9.04.505A to 506A then 506C and now 507A, and we've also installed Epicor on a different server (although APM still resides where it was originally installed).

1. Is there a default username/password for the doc-link Administrator program? No matter what username/password combo I try, I get an error.

2. Can I just backup the doc-link database from the old server and restore it to the new one? We're using SQL.

3. Or, can I just un-install APM and then reinstall it? If so, what all do I need to make sure gets taken out?

Thanks,

Ernie Lowell

1. The signon is administrator/admin. You may need to go into advanced settings on the signon screen and select the correct SQL instance.

2. No you cannot just backup the db and restore it on a new server. The doc-link COM client (App server) components need to be uninstalled/reinstalled. Then the identity and COM security elements need to be re-configured.

3. Even after 4 years I am finding it is often a little tricky to install doc-link. Not something for the faint-hearted. Also you might consider going to the new version 2.7. It has one feature almost everyone wants.

I agree with point #4, doc-link is tricky to install. However, I have found the install documentation for 2.7 is better.

Thanks Alex, and all others who emailed me directly. As it turned out, someone had actually locked the login process and I had to go into the database itself and reset the password.

How do you upgrade to 2.7? I just last week got my 9.05 packet from Epicor and it still has 2.6.

Ernie

I was given a few documents from Epicor that details the upgrade and also provides the ftp site where you can get doc link 2.7. I have created a doc link 2.7 folder under APM with them.
