Good day:
We discovered the source of the problem. Below
is message to Helpline - need them to fix the records.
Bad records need to be fixed, but we have found how the fields get
blanked. Blank is caused when "Nonconformance" is used to put JOB matl
into inspection. That works OK; but if when inspection wants to move it
they check the "Job matl" button, then the Bin# and Whse# are blanked
out. We have changed our procedure to never us the "Job Matl" button;
will always use "stock"; and the Bin# and Whse# are already filled in.
I think the only fix to the records in order to get PTHT to not begin
with a negative number is to edit the records, which you will have to do

I'm not in accounting so I'm not sure. What I can say was that our
accounting group was happy because it increased the value of our
inventory. I'm not sure that was a good thing though. The fix they
provided required us to be off the system, and then run a couple of part
and bin based conversion programs. It fixed some and others it made
worse. The conversion programs took longer, but I assume the length of
time required is based on the size of your database. Overall it took me
about 15-20 minutes to run the fixes and the conversion programs.
And we are still dealing with this issue today. I'm hoping the upgrade
to 702 has fixed the issue.

Good Day Stephen:
Thanks.
Did they have a good fix for the records, since the program
fix may take a while?
I only have six parts with the problem.
I found them with a BAQ against the PartBin file. List all
then sort by Bin#
Did you also have your beginning balance on the transaction
screen go negative?

We have several bins in this state. We're not sure what is causing it,
but we do perform inspections and on occasion send them back to stock.
Epicor has sent us a couple of different "fixes" which were just to deal
with the symptoms. Perhaps this is causing our issue.

Subject: [Epicor9] - "Inspection Processing" causes PartBin records with
Blank WHSE and Bin.
Good Day:
Has anyone seen:
"Inspection Processing" causes PartBin records with Blank
WHSE and Bin. Can see them in PTHT screen.
Records are INS-STK transaction.
This then causes the beginning balance of Transaction (PTHT)
screen to be Negative.
Started with 9.05.700C. First level of helpline is not
seeing any calls on it.
