Ah perfect that will be useful! Now on to part II of this customization. All of our costing is done per 1000 parts. The issue is our IUM is part specific and not always 1000 parts per container. I want to be able to add a button that when pressed takes 1000 and divides it by the part specific conversion number then taking that calculated number and dividing the entered std material and burden by that. In example

Part ABC has 250 parts per container.
The cost per 1000 is 32 dollars.
Cost of 1000 divided by 250 PPC = 4.
The material cost of 32 divided by 4 = 8
The actual resulting material cost for this product based on the IUM is 8 not 32.

I hope this makes sense? Would I do something like this from a button press or on row update? Ideas.... Thank you in advance.

From what I can see though the part table is included in this form that field is not available? What do I need to do to get access to this information when you pull a part into the cost adjustment form. We do all of our stander costing per thousands of parts but they can be inventoried in different qtys.

I have the part table available at the Cost Adjustment screen. I want to add a text field that has the PartPerContainer epi binding. From what I can see though the part table is included in this form that field is not available? One way would be to add a Foreign Key View for the part table.
Something like this:

View Name: myPart
Parent View: Part
Column: PartNum
Like Column Value: Part.PartNum
Adapter: PartAdapter
GetBy Type: StringGetByID

Then assign the form controls epibinding to myPart.PartsPerContainer

Well... I just tried the Foreign Key View doesn't seem to work on the Part Cost Adjustment form anyway.
I'm not sure why...

There is another way I'll try & post if it works.

Maybe somebody else has some options for you in the mean time.

OK, a FKV worked but... I had to use Cost instead of Part.

When you are in the form customization:
Menu Item - Tools, Data Tools

You should be able to click on the New Custom View.
Values will be the same as described before except Parent View is Cost.

If you need more assistance, email me & we can work on this offline.
