When our welding dept is clocking out of a job in MES, they end activity, and go to print tags to attach to the product. They fill out quantity and all that stuff, but when they print, all the information is wrong. The quantity, name, Job #. Where do I even start to look for the demon making this mess?
Auto-print functionality usually lives in a Data Directive. I would look through your data directives to see if anything sticks out, then if you find something, start digging in to the widgets/code to see how it is working.
I will have a look in there to see what I can find. I did notice that one MES station is on APP01, and another is on APP02. I know they are supposed to be mirrored, but they are stating that they are getting different results depending on which machine they go to. Will report back.
I haven’t found anything out of place. When we reboot, sometimes that fixes it, but then it just comes back. I really feel like it could be user error. It has been a problem for more than 5 years now I guess. I have only been here a little over a year.
The MtlTag report style is a beast that is used all over Epicor and we found out back in the 9 days that a simple change in there can have profound consequences. I would try with the out of the box label and see if that is the issue.
Also, make sure your work station method is set to machine name and User ID.
Right now our work station method is set to Default. I think it has always been set as that. What are the ramifications of me changing that? What else COULD break if I change it?
I don’t know. Default is Computer Name + session which I don’t know why that would be an issue with not being unique, but we started as Machine Name + User ID since our initial consultant set it that way and we have never had issues.
Do you have any custom report styles? If not then then I am 0 for 2.
I’ll just do the good 'ol scream test. Change it, and see who comes running and yelling first.
