Hidden RB Filter Window

One other thing you can do is after a minute or so, hit Alt-Tab until you
get to the filter box. I have to do this all the time because I'm the
rather impatient type :)

Various users here are having difficulty running RB reports wher they must
change a filter. They check the "change filter" check box and never see the
filter screen. If they reduce the whole Vantage window before selecting the
report and try it they see that the filter screen is coming up behind the
Vantage window. Clicking on even a piece of it brings it forward. But when
the report window with the check boxes is on the screen you can not re-sisze
the Vantage window to peek behind it..

Anyone know why the filters window comes up behind everything else for some
people and on-top (as it should) for others? It would seem to me that this
might be a Progress bug in the way it handles window precidence or "on-top"
attribute for Windows.

We are on Vantage 4.00.812 with Progress 9.0B and users are all running
WIndows-98 SE.

Tell them to click the Print button ONCE and ONLY ONCE, then sit back and
be patient while the stupid thing initializes. If they double-click it, or
get impatient and click any part of the first frame, it gets windows'
focus, and the filter box opens behind everything else.

Thanks this sounds very likely and I am sure you are right. I have noticed
that some people habitually double-click and others do not. I have observed
double-clickers also tend to be more impatient. The distinction of
dbl-clicking on menu items but single on buttons has been tough one to get
across. I need to find a wooden ruler. ;)

This is a problem that existed in Vantage 3 as well. And it only happens on
certain users and/or reports-still is a problem in 4...but!!!! you can
close that report window without losing the report, it's already in the
works. Maybe this is fixed in 5???
