How do you use PO Approve?

Hi everyone,

In my company, when creating a PO, the purchasing manager does everything up to the Approve stage. So, we want to use the Approval feature to allow the authorized person to do the approval. But, PO Approval Activity is disabled, as shown in the screenshot below.
Do I need any other settings?

That field should become available once you’ve loaded a PO, and you have at least 1 line on it.

You have to tick that approved box before it will let you preview or print the PO report.

Hitting Retrieve doesn’t generate any lines.

That screen would show you any activity that has happened on this PO.

There is another screen called “PO Approval”, where you action the requests.

It also ties back to the Buyer setup - a buyer with a 0 limit isn’t subject to approval. Set that limit to 0.01 or higher as well as the approving buyer, and you’ll see when they tick that Approved checkbox it will go amber - and the PO will then be in the PO approval screen for action.

To use approvals you need a minimum of 2 buyer codes, but you could have lots more. We just our by functional area, rather than by person. So I have “Engineer”, and “Engineering Manager” for instance. Engineer has 0.01 limit, Engineering Manager has 5000, and Ops Director has 0 (unlimited). So you can see the hierarchy flow.

I solved it. There was my little mistake.
I did not change the PO Approve status to Pending.
