I have user that being using the report with fix filtering on Epicor Report.
Wonder if there is anyway to customized the report filtering so that user does not need to keep selecting the filter to generate the report.
I tried on the developer mode to look for user customization but am not able to figure out how to do it.
For example the “Material Transaction Details Report”, users need to filter by the same “Transaction Type” and fixed “Part No” every month to generate the report for the previous month.
If Epicor is able to customized different sets of filtering of the same report for users to use will be more productive to skip the selection process.
Appreciate if anyone is able to advise the possibility of doing so.
bit clunky, but you could have multi report styles set up an have the user to configure the defaults. For each one… I have never tested this so you might be out of luck.
Not in front of a pc at the moment so will have to test if the defaults stick to the form or the actual report style.
There may be other alternatives, but would have to do a bit of prodding to see.
EDIT
Looks like the defaults stick to the form not the report style…
Interestingly was testing this on the Inventory Rec report on 2024.1 and the transaction types parameters would not stick in classic form but would in the Kinetic form.
at this point I am thinking an Epicor Idea…“Multiple report parameter defaults by report for Users” (there probably already is one), but it’s not Friday yet…
If this is a report that is run on a regular basis i.e. the user runs the report on a monthly basis at a particular time every month and they do it manually. Then I would suggest you could schedule the report and have it emailed to them, or print preview, with the parameters set for each instance of the report to run. You could also use the Dynamic dates of From - First day of month - 1 month and To - Last day of month -1. Then apply it to a schedule of either a specific day of the month or a day of the week of a month. You can look at the capabilities of the System Agent and using Dynamic Dates in the help.
At this point I am going to ask you to check the online help for “Dynamic Date Options” and “System Agent Maintenance” I would also do search for “Process Set”
This should provide you with the information to create multiple scheduled instance of the report with different parameters.
There are also resources on the Epicor Learning center and in the Epicare KB that should have walkthroughs and examples
Check that information out and if you have further trouble then post back here.
