I have the following situation. an order was created and all the parts where picked to deliver. In the mean time , the customer decided he didn’t want all the items. The order was partially delivered but 1 item is still waiting to be packed and shipped. I need to send this part back to inventory, but I cannot close the order because it has a line that is being picked and not shipped. The only solution I see i to create a shipment to be able to close the SO and then create a RMA to be able to send the part to inventory. The truth is that I don’t like this solution and think that must be a better form to solve this inconvenient.
It’s been actually picked and is waiting to be added to a Pack. There is a ‘Unpick Sales Order’ program in AMM that allows you to undo that pick. Watch out for where it puts the part back, you might need to then do an inventory transfer to get it back to it’s right place depending on your Site settings.
It may already been added to a Pack, in which case you just need to delete the pack or delete the pack line. You can tell in Sales Order Tracker > Lines > Shipments (it will show up there even if it’s not been marked shipped yet.
