IDC - Read word document

I know we can read the data from PDF / Image files using Epicor IDC.
Is it possible to read the data from the word document using Epicor IDC application?

To the best of my knowledge IDC only accepts image files so a Word document, Excel spreadsheet and other formats are not accepted. The most acceptable format would be a PDF, which you could convert a Word document into. NOTE: IDC works best with image files that are a minimum of 300 DPI (Dots Per Inch).
