Inaccurate Time Phase

Workaround.

If you change the required quantity for a step on the job when there are already parts issued to that job, then Time Phase won't pick up the new requirement (this applies to version 3 and 4, fixed in 5). The workaround is to open the job, uncheck Engineered and released, select Materials/Update. Then change the Quantity Per Parent to a new number (while remembering the old number). Click OK. Now select Materials/Update again, change the Quantity Per Parent back to what it was. Click OK. This will reset Time Phase to find the new requirement.

Thought this might help someone down the road when they run into the same problem.

Subject: [Vantage] Inaccurate Time Phase

We're trying to discover why our Time phase doesn't show certain parts as being short, when it should be showing it.

The job requires 24 of Part A. 23 have been issued (confirmed in Transaction History). However, the Time Phase is not showing a shortage for the part. This is now happening several times a week on various parts. In some cases the Required Quantity for the Job is changing in midstream.

Are we doing a procedure wrong, or is there a bug in Time Phase that is not showing us the shortage?

Are you marking the issue complete when issuing 23 pcs? I think this will
take the requirement off time phase.
