Incrementing "next job" number

we are currently running Vantage 8.03.409C.

A user created a new job number manually last week and it seemed to have interrupted the auto job numbering function. Normally when you launch a job, you click "next job" and it auto-assigns the new number. With the manual creation, we seem to be permanently behind by 1 number now. When "next job" is clicked we have to add 1 to it, otherwise it says "job already exists", which it does. We have launched a few dozen jobs after this incident and it is consistently behind by 1.

I have looked all over to find the counter for the "next job" number generation with no luck. Does anyone know where to find this counter so i can increment it by 1 and stop having this error occur?

I'm not sure where the counter is, but could you create a job, then delete
it? Would that get the counter caught up?
