I am curious to what type of Barcode scanning and printing solutions people are using in conjunction with Epicor Inventory Management. My company is looking for what solution we may go with regarding this topic. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as we take on this new journey. Thank you!
Many people use bartender for labeling/barcoding but with the transition to bold reports that may become less necessary. You might get more response if you are more specific about what you are trying to achieve.
At a high level I would guess most common setup these days is BarTender for label design / processing, Zebra label printers (something like a ZT231), with Android based Honeywell scanners (something like CT60) running the Kinetic EKW mobile app.
Agreed - Bartender. Only twice have I seen a company use something other than what’s included with the SSRS reports or Bartender. There was a post about some changes coming regarding printing barcodes from Tim Shoemaker a couple months ago. Nicelabel vs Bartender - #18 by timshuwy
It’s an old post, but this is what we do and it has managed to encompass a number of process changes over the years.
We use this approach as we found bartender was not scalable when you wanted to print out 1000 serial numbers.
It also requires no additional software and licensing costs.
Finally, I’ve just finished to project to port this solution to web based Kinetic and it works well, using Epicor functions an intermediary WEB API solution.
