I am working in 10.1.6 with doclink sending out my invoices auto when they are processed in epicor. I am being told this doclink functionality is native inside 2023.2 Kinetic under “Breaking Routing” and SSRS processes. Is this correct can someone confirm? I am being lead astray by multiple people.
I used DocLink 10 years ago to send emails, so I can’t say that it is apples to apples. Yes, APR can email documents very easily.
I am being told I do not need to buy APR(advanced printing and routing) but that the functionality of “Breaking Routing” and some SSRS can do the same thing in the kinetic 2023.2 for automating invoices and customer monthlyy statements.
APR is the license you need to do Breaking Routing.
I do not get info nor clarity from my CAM either. so looking to you all. Is the module “APR” advance print routing and breaking routing and ECM/docstar all can a task of auto send emails out for invoicing and customer monthly statements? I know there are other features wrapped in each but I working to avoid a thousands of dollars project for these simple send out of email via SMTP.
There are multiple ways to send emails from Epicor. IMHO, APR is the best and easiest. However, you can send an e-mail through a BPM or through the print dialog.
You can also buy ECM for document storage and then you will be able to find documents and use them as attachments in your emails. If you only need to send the report, APR is all you need.
So what is your exact need?
When an invoice is posted, send an email?
I am converting from doclink (which sends invoices out when processed/posted) and I need to include customer monthly statements sent out also with this functionality. What do you use or recommend? On prem also kinetic 2023.2 moving too this fall.
If your needs are only to send Epicor reports via email, then APR is all you need. Trying to send TWO reports simultaneously (an invoice AND a statement) will probably be a little tricky, but the collective can figure something out.
I do it, but manually with code. It’s not too hard, unless you need to go fancy.
Me and @hkeric.wci went the route of making our own templates. His are a little fancier than mine, but the idea is the same.
In fact, I’m deploying mine now.
There are nine good reasons to watch Star Trek: Voyager, but I only need Seven.
Thank you all for the info sounds like APR will email the invoices out right after they post, and the APR will allow the automating of customer statements based on outstanding unpaid ap invocies to be sent out via this email process say at first of every month. So it would be 2 separate procesess. This would also leave room for any future auto email out tasks, that will surely arise. Thanks again folks.
