Is Epicor Data Planner still useful?

Hi All,
Long story short, we are in the midst of implementing Kinetic and seeking an easier way to manage our data transition in to Kinetic. I came across the Data Planner first on EpicWeb’s downloads section, then here on the forums, and I am curious if it is still a useful tool given it’s now 2 years since the last release?

Edit: For clarity we are implementing 2024.1 on-prem, coming from Visual Manufacturing.

Thanks,
Devon

I’ve never used it, but I’ll add a perspective. The two systems are going to be unique to each other. If you plan on pulling in history and everything, then this tool may make sense - it will enable you to do it multiple times, accurately.

If you are not planning on history, then I’d seriously suggest you examine Epicor’s set up requirements and determine if this is a new ERP implementation. It may be better (and appropriate time) to reevaluate everything from the GL to your Part Numbering. In this case, the tool will be worthless.

Also - Playbooks are already in the DMT tool, albeit rudimentary compared to the Planner. If you are just bringing a few things like Inventory transactions, open AR/AP/etc, and Part numbers, then DMT will work just fine and be less work to get going.

Do you have a link for that

I couldn’t envisage doing a migration without DMT and the migration menu in DMT is a good breakdown of the order
