Is there a way to have attachements with the same filename append the date and time to the file name

Hello,

I came across the setting in the sysconfig file that is supposed to do this but when I enable it, log out of Epicor then back in, it does not work.(Screenshot below)

Is there more set up somewhere for this feature to work?

You need to change the setting in Attachment Type Maintenance. Not sure why it is in the config file.

Where is the setting?

I was going to say that my memory of this was that in older version you did set it in the config file and that the ability to set it in attachment maintenance was a newer release thing. In 2022.2 it was still in the Config file, in 2024.1 there is now a dropdown in attachment for it and it is no longer in the config file.

Your config editor looks good, have you verified that the actual config file shows this as well in notepad? I am also assuming the config is from the client computer where you are adding the attachment since that is what it will look to, you could have it set differently on different machines.

Hey, I found the setting.
I had to open the screen in Kinetic.
They neglected to add to the Modern screen…

I set it from Kinetic and it now appends a long number.

Can you tell me how to decipher the number in case I need to see when it was attached?

An example file I uploaded is: TestFile01(638727085480597641).txt

Any help is appreciated!
