Is Windows Server 2025 supported?

Hi,

In Nov 2024 the Windows Server 2025 got released. I received from our service provider that 2025 is not supported. See below:

As per install guide for Kinetic 2024, these are the compatible versions

. Window Server 2016 with SQL Server 2017

. Windows Server 2019 with SQL Server 2017 or 2019

. Windows Server 2022 with SQL Server 2019 or 2022

I cannot find any information form Epicor about 2025 version. Could someone from Epicor tell me is 2025 is or is not supported. and if not, why is not supported?

Kindest regards

Alek

If it’s not, I would guess it’s because Nov - now is not a lot of time for validation testing.

It is mid of April now. There’s been enough time to “test things”. I would like someone from Epicor to give us some insight to this. Answering should not a big job, I assume.

It may be supported int eh upcoming release, just not tested for backwards compatibility.

Probably should open a ticket or talk to your CAM then, these are just community forums, that occasionally are graced with the presence of Epicor employees

Theoretically speaking…you’d think they would test/certify new Windows Server and/or SQL Server versions to work with their current (and maybe 1 prior) Kinetic release. Doubt they’re going to test WS 2025 for Kinetic 2022.1 (as an example).
