This is related to AMM. In AMM, operations occur in WIP locations. These are
defined in the resource groups. The "to" location should be the incoming
location associated with the resource group for the first operation. For us,
the first operation is always kitting, which uses a resource group
"InvClrks" and has an "in" bin in the Production Shop Floor warehouse of
"KitIn". We use automove to pass the material through the wip locations.

It is rather complicated but the basic idea is that with AMM parts in WIP
are not in some black-box but are always tracked through locations.

as that's where it pulls the material from that it's issuing.

I'm a bit confused regarding the issue material form. On the form, there's a warehouse/bin in the "To" section, as well as the warehouse/bin in the "From" section. It makes sense to me to have one in the "From" section, as that's where it pulls the material from that it's issuing.

However, since this is issuing to a job, isn't it going to WIP? What is the purpose for the "To" warehouse/bin?

Thanks.

Sorry, no answer but if it's any consolation, I'm confused too.
The "To warehouse/bin" fields are always greyed out in our environment.
I wonder if they rely on AMM or some other module?

When we Issue Material to a job, the 'To' Warehouse is always: Production
Floor and the 'To' Bin is: PCB Assembly (it automatically goes to WIP).

The To: bins are for Advanced Material Management. Do you have that module?
It tracks where the material is on the shop floor.

Sorry, no answer but if it's any consolation, I'm confused too.
The "To warehouse/bin" fields are always greyed out in our environment.
I wonder if they rely on AMM or some other module?
