Is there a way to force close this job from 2021? There was a labor transaction on 9/17/2021 by the employee on operation 20, that has a Status of "E ", which is I think forcing the job to stay open because this is an unapproved labor transaction.
Our controller has tried everything he can think of in Epicor to close these out.
Open the labor entry activity in job tracker and find the status-E one. Take note of its employee id, payroll date, and clock in date.
Go to time entry in kinetic, or time and expense entry in classic. Enter the employee ID. Select the payroll date you noted earlier. Clock in entries are grouped by payroll date, and clock in date may not match payroll date. Find the offending clock in entry. Now that you’ve got the troublemaker cornered, you can approve it, modify it, or (probably not) delete it, and then you can proceed with completing/closing the job.
Something to consider before you start is, if you add a labor cost and close that job without dispositioning the WIP, clearing WIP will post cost that as a variance. Maybe to an accounting period in 2021, depending. You have a couple of options. Ask accounting what they’d prefer: Delete or zero out the cost on that labor entry before approving it, or, approve it and accounting may have to deal with a resulting GL outcome.
