Job Costing technical Guide

FWIW, on my system, the Technical Reference Guides are located:

Vantage: mfgsys803\Help\enu\Vantage
Vista: mfgsys803\Help\enu\Vista
Epicor: Epicor904\Help\enu\Standard\Supporting_Files

These are also available online on the EpicWeb in the Documentation section
for the product of interest.

Just wanted to let everyone know about this. One very kind lady on this
list pointed it out to me and it has help me tremendously.

If you have Vantage 8.03, go into help and search for job costing.

There is a technical guide that helps with set up and other good info
for you to use on how Vantage does job costing. It IS free to you...

Have fun with it!

I cannot find it. When I search within Vantage help for job costing, I
get several results. In fact, every time I search for any term, I get
several results that have little to do with my search term. Do others
have the same issue?

In your Vantage/Epicor main folder, search for .pdf files under Help that
having "cost" in the name. All of the guides are in the same folder.

I hate the Robo help. You can't enter a phrase to search on. If you enter "job costing technical guide" in the help search you end up with everything that has the word job, costing, technical, or guide, which is just about everything.

I understand version 9 has a different help system. I would be interested if someone wanted to respond to what they thought about the version 9 help.

Well, the Version 9 help is better than the old Robo help in that it launches quicker and it's much faster in scrolling.

However, the search function can sometimes be less than helpful when you're searching for multiple terms - but on the whole it's definitely better. If I search for "job costing technical guide" it comes back with results for "costing, guide, job, technical" which would seem crazy - but I'm happy to say the reference guide is indeed the first link at the top.

It sounds like version 9 help is at least prioritizing the results based on the number of matches. I think robo help just displays the results in the order it finds them.

You can view either the Vantage or Epicor help systems on EpicWeb. Go to the
Documentation section and choose your product. You'll see the help link on
the right hand side of the page.
