If Top Level jobs were originally released with MTL 10 at REV A and then a new REV B method is made and approved for that MTL 10 we are seeing that the Top Level job MTL 10 stays at REV A. Is there a way to get the materials on the jobs updated to the now current revision besides manually updating?
Check to make sure Use Part Rev is checked on the part. Also, what are your effective dates for the revisions?
Use Part Rev is checked, Revision effective date is 5/14/2025, material is associated to an operation with a start date of 12/18/2025. The material is a purchased part that goes to inventory. Track Inventory by Revision is NOT checked…could that be the issue?
Yes, if you are not tracking revision in inventory, then it does not differentiate between them.
Once a job is CREATED, no revisions on the job part number or any material part numbers will change UNLESS you do it manually. The “Get Details” functionality pulls the method as it exists at that moment of creation. The only way to update any material revision would be a manual process. It has been ever thus.
Thanks @Ernie , I was only thinking of the methods and not the job records.
