Job Scheduling Future Operations

The schedule is not doing what I would expect it to be doing. I am looking at the schedule for our finishing department and it has operations scheduled to start this week. These operations are at the end of the manufacturing process. Predecessor operations have not even been started yet so why would it be scheduling these to start this week?

I would expect this to be pushing out these final operations based on its operations that proceed it. Am I wrong in this thinking? We have the schedule set as finite. Takes material constraints into consideration. And Global scheduler is rescheduling already started operations. I do not run MRP at this time.

When you look at one of the Jobs that you are expecting the operation to be way out, how does it look? Is it scheduling the operation out of sequence at all or something else?

when were the jobs scheduled originally, have they been scheduled since the job started, as it sounds like the job is running late
