We are having a difficult time tracking efficiency with operations that have baking time (ie. the oven runs un-attended for up to 12 hours).
One employee can login to set the parts up and “feed” the machine, but they won’t be able to take the labor Qty because the bake time won’t complete until the middle of next shift – they get 0%. The next shift takes the Labor quantity and gets 10,000+%. Any thoughts on how to make this work?
Thought of using three operations steps like 010 – Load, 020 – Bake, and 030 – Unload (backflush labor through Bake?). But, not sure if this would cause other problems related to costing and scheduling. I am also hoping to minimize Routing Maintenance and Labor Entry time.
