Keeping Credit Card "on file" with customer (ESDM with Epicor 9

How do you guys handle this then? Do you have to ask for the credit card every time?

I'm still in the process of setting up ESDM but I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to attach a credit card directly to a Customer rather than to an Order?

It would have to be a customization. Â

I believe that is not done on purpose as a security measure.
