Hey everyone, we are currently going to the cloud from on-prem. I have a couple of questions: Right now, we are using Windows Sign-on for single sign-on. Do you guys prefer Azure Sign-in or IDP Sign-in? I’ve been setting up Azure Sign-in and I like it since its one password for everything however IDP seems the route Epicor wants everyone going.
My second question is what do you guys use for File Storage for Attachments, and like Payroll files that are exported? We have a server on-prem but didn’t know if Epicor has an option. Its been pretty interesting since we have to use the Gov Cloud and can only have support from US Team Members.
We are on Gov Cloud and use Azure/Entra AD for SSO. Interestingly, I had IDP for pilot a year or more ago and recently discovered I can use it for EpicWeb and EpicCare, which is nice.
We have Epicor ECM for document storage. I’ve also tested SharePoint for attachment storage and that seems to work as well.
This one for the win. As a consulting partner we’re doing this for all new clients.
Benefit here is that you’re using Epicor IDP which gives access to Kinetic App, EpicWeb, EpicCare, Epicor Learning - but you can just click the button on the IDP login screen which says “Azure AD” and do pass through authentication.
An IDP Admin just needs to register the IDP app within the Azure AD (Entra ID) platform and then create the user mapping. This can either be done User by User or centrally by the admin.
