Okay…some progress.
I removed the page reference to the Detail page and since I am sending the order number via Launch Options it opens the order through the SalesOrderForm.
When doing this, the icons are hidden and I see the “Activity” and “Details” tabs.
Now I just need to figure out if I can prevent the user from returning to the SalesOrderForm page and opening a different sales order, but I suppose it’s not the end of the work if I can’t.
