Kinetic Login White Screen

Saw there was a similar topic for this from 2 years ago, but didn’t find a solution in there. Was wondering if anyone has any updates?

When one of our users attempts to log in to Epicor, they get a blank white screen that doesn’t load anything or produce an error message. It’s a consistent issue though where it happens every time they log in each morning and also if they were to log out during the day. Generally, it will let them log in on the 2nd try, but there are times where it takes several tries to get in (without them going in and ending the Epicor Session Manager task). Since we can almost always get them in, it’s not a super high priority, but it is definitely frustrating them and the support team has not given us a successful solution. Luckily it only happens to one person, but our worry is that it will spread to other users. We’ve tried reinstalling Epicor, deleting temp folders, and even a “deep clean” of the cache like support recommended, but every morning that user gets the white screen. Has anyone else successfully remedied this?

Did you look into Dev Tools console on that machine? are there any outstanding errors?

Sorry, this might be a dumb question, but would the DevTools only apply to the browser? That’s the only place I’ve used it. Unfortunately we still heavily rely on Classic screens so the user is trying to log in via the smart client.

Not necessarily. On the smart client you can add something to the config which allows for the dev tools to pop out every time a window opens.

Here is a link to the knowledge base on troubleshooting steps which indicates also how to enable the dev tools.

Yes, using settings in sysconfig:

<LaunchEOBrowserDebug value="true" />

Thanks for the tip! I’ll have to find a time that works for them where I can try it out!

After following the instructions in that KB article and creating a copied shortcut with the altered config file, I was able to login once, but then when I went to retry it, it now throws an error after logging in and then takes me to the Epicor Status website where it shows me that the servers in Australia and Singapore are under maintenance. Any idea what this could be?

Do you use Snapcom? We found that this applications was causing this blank screen.

We had to install one app at a time to find it.

We do not

The user came in this morning and did not have this issue. Could be due to the update that happened this weekend.
