Hi,

I have added a custom button on the Kinetic MES screen on the main page. I want to understand how I can make it default for the users.

Deploy MES Layer Kinetic browser

What is the correct way to deploy the customization layers for a user accessing from a browser. I have my custom MES uplifted to Kinetic, but testing the deployment by modifying the layer in Menu maintenance for the Menu ID called by default in the browser. I either need to change the Menu ID called in the browser or modify in Menu Maintenance. I suppose I could just put the Menu ID in the URL after the view. Hi Vishal,
Assuming you have already published the layer in Application Studio…

1. Open Kinetic Menu Maintenance.
2. Select the ‘Processes’ menu.
3. Find and select menu ID PR000440.
4. In the Kinetic Customization field, click the search button.
5. Select your layer(s), then click Apply.
6. Save the menu item.

This is weird to me. I applied my layer like below and when I came back again to the menu maintenance it was again empty. Does any of you experience the same?

I see the layer added in the custom menu PR000440 but I don’t see it reflecting in MES web.

I have an open case for a similar issue, but am spinning my wheels. I also tried following the Knowledge Article: Steps to deploy a Kinetic Customization to a Kinetic 2021.1 Data Collection Button, KB0115622, but run into a snag when trying to save a copy of the Data Rule. My new Event works, but the rule deactivates the End Activity button and needs to be replaced. Any thoughts on this?

Based on the below post, it sounds like there are known bugs in this functionality.

$rowCount in ApplicationStudio Data Rule

When using application studio to modifiy Job Status Maintinace. I am duplicating a rule to follow the same process and i see $rowCount in the field and it keeps erroring out for me. [image]

There’s a newer Knowledge Article out on this: KB0132464 EpicCare Login - EpicCare. It is version dependent, the layer is a little finicky… log-out/log-in and repeat, but it “works” when combined with Kb0123146.

I’ve modified my MES layer and it is working but when I go into the process menu to select the layer the search button does not do anything. The whole page is read only.

Based on your screen shot, you’re still dealing with the base menu (which you can’t modify):

Copy to Current Company:

Then you can make changes and apply your layer.

Note: You must exit Epicor completely or the shortcut will still just open the base layer, even if the layer you select is published.
