I have not worked with 2024.2 so take the below with that understanding but:
As far as I am concerned, at least in 2024.1, cross-company kinetic dashboards are completely useless.
You cannot open with on a record that was not for the company that you launched the dashboard from. It brings up the screen but it is just greyed out. The problem as far as I can see is that it does not carry the Company field with it so it doesn’t switch the company.
Again, as of 2024.1 the Kinetic version of the BAQ editor does not support updatable queries at all, even if they exist and you search for them, they do not show up. They do show the BAQ as in preview but it is something to note that like I say, not only can you not edit or created uBAQs, you can’t even view them or see them in a list of existing BAQs.
TBH, again, as far as 2024.1 is concerned, most multi-company functionality is pretty terrible. Open Part Tracker in Company A, Open Job Tracker in Company B, right click on Part Number in Company B and select Open With Part Tracker. Watch as Company B Part Tracker Opens, then watch as Company A’s Part Tracker that you had previously loaded tries to load the Part from Comp B and error’s out because it doesn’t exist. SO far this effects all context links I have seen, browser or smart client, if you are using the Kinetic UI you had better only use a single company and better only have a single screen driven by that field open at once. This by the way also extends to a completely different computer if you are logged in with the same UN.
If you think ‘oh, I’ll leave my dashboard classic until Kinetic is actually ready to be used’ and it is a cross company dashboard you cannot right click on any record that was not for the company you launched it in, you just get an error, so it will show you the information but you can’t navigate to the screens or even do a copy to excel unless the record you are clicking on is for the launch company. In fairness though this issue only seems to effect browser based sessions, if you are using the kinetic smart client with a classic dashboard you don’t get that error and I believe it loads the record, it definitely does if you have forced the other screen to be classic as well, I can’t remember what happens if the other screen is Kinetic.

Best advice really would be to setup a test environment and see though, it may be fixed in 2024.2, I am spinning up a system this weekend to see what they have managed to fix.
