Kinetic Upgrades

Has anyone who is in a Multi-site/Multi-company workplace upgraded one of their Sites/Companies to Kinetic and other sites are on legacy Epicor products? If so, how is it dealt with by support?

We have migrated one of the sites as a Company onto Kinetic while the other site is staying on E9 until they get their data cleansed.

Surely other companies have done this? I seem to be getting mix messages.

So you have separate Epicor environments (installs, app servers, databases, etc)?

If that’s the case, I’d imagine you pick whatever environment the ticket is for in EpiCare. You can set different version numbers. Then support knows which one you’re dealing with. We have different versions between our LIVE, EOM / EOY, Dev, and future upgrade environments.

All separate. We have Live 9.05 and we have a Live
2024.1. I have setup EpicCare but it looks like you can only have on ‘Production’ environment so i have had to setup our Live Kinetic as a Parallel environment.

Our CAM is saying this hasnt been done before and needs to find out from the Maintenance team what to do but i am sure others have worked like this for a period of time?

I don’t think the name really matters. You can call the new one Production and name the old environment Legacy. Just need to re-iterate urgency on the ticket if it’s a critical issue for your old LIVE environment. That being said, it’d be extroardinary for Epicor to provide bug fixes for 9.05 these days… That’s got to be 10 years old!
