I know you could do this from the “classic” or app version of Kinetic; but, how/is there a way to make an Auto Login for our MES screens from the URL.
It would be great for us to be able to skip the main/user login for the MES Stations and simply present them with the opened MES screens where they could then enter their various employee IDs, etc.
I have looked around here as well as some of the documentation and can’t find anything related. There are a couple of posts on epiusers about the password maintenance, etc. - but these things don’t seem to apply to a URL - based login.
You could do single sign on.
Create a generic user account in Epicor with the same info that you log into Windows with and set the sysconfig to be SSO.
We use Azure AD for ours. They’ll be presented with a button to click, but they don’t have to type anything in.
I’m assuming this azure AD user does not have MFA on? Glad someone finally asked the question about how to handle shared logins using kinetic browser/cloud.
That’s the thing, not sure what @josephp 's situation is, but if they are on cloud how do they stop the user who knows that windows username from going home and logging into the app with the windows user creds, especially if MFA isn’t on? A little security riddle for @Mark_Wonsil maybe…
Unless you’re rocking a VPN or a configured RDP session, it’s probably not going to happen. And if you have that stuff set up, then it’s probably assumed you’re allowed to do so, lol.
Is there a document on how to set this up? (for the Cloud customers)
I went to the recommended knowledge articles and the presentation touched on the setup for Epic Web, Epicare and Epicor Learning. It did not mention signing into Epicor itself.
We need to set up automatic login for the MES stations in Kinetic.
We have it set up for classic but this does not transfer to Kinetic - it remembers the userID for some reason but not the password.
If I use classic on the same machine it signs in no issue.
I do not want to have to make an email address for the user unless we absolutely have to - this will be a shared MES login for the machine. No need to buy more email licenses. It will never receive email. Thanks in advance.
