Kinetic URL --> Auto Login for Data Collection/MES stations - How to make this happen

All,

I know you could do this from the “classic” or app version of Kinetic; but, how/is there a way to make an Auto Login for our MES screens from the URL.

It would be great for us to be able to skip the main/user login for the MES Stations and simply present them with the opened MES screens where they could then enter their various employee IDs, etc.

I have looked around here as well as some of the documentation and can’t find anything related. There are a couple of posts on epiusers about the password maintenance, etc. - but these things don’t seem to apply to a URL - based login.

Any thoughts?

TIA and have a great weekend all!

You could do single sign on.
Create a generic user account in Epicor with the same info that you log into Windows with and set the sysconfig to be SSO.

We use Azure AD for ours. They’ll be presented with a button to click, but they don’t have to type anything in.

I’m assuming this azure AD user does not have MFA on? Glad someone finally asked the question about how to handle shared logins using kinetic browser/cloud.

Hey man, I don’t set this stuff up–I just work here.

No, I don’t believe we use MFA.

That’s the thing, not sure what @josephp 's situation is, but if they are on cloud how do they stop the user who knows that windows username from going home and logging into the app with the windows user creds, especially if MFA isn’t on? A little security riddle for @Mark_Wonsil maybe…

Thank you for replying! glad you chimed in with what SG is doing.

You would have to be logged into your home computer that way for SSO to let you into Epicor.

I feel like that would be difficult to do. :upside_down_face: Happy Friday.

Unless you’re rocking a VPN or a configured RDP session, it’s probably not going to happen. And if you have that stuff set up, then it’s probably assumed you’re allowed to do so, lol.

Great point, thank you. I was getting the SSO confused with using O365 to log in. happy friday :upside_down_face: :face_with_spiral_eyes:
