I copied the link of a custom dashboard I had made in Pilot and then I have disabled the screen on Menu Maintenance. After refreshing the page, I could not search for the dashboard I had made, however I was able to paste the link I had copied earlier and was able to open the dashboard that way. I had even opened a private browser and got the same result. I wanted to see if other people had the same results before submitting a ticket.
I’d hesitate to have you report it lol, they will just break something else trying to fix it. Menu security is a real mess.
Your link didn’t happen to be a preview link from App Studio did it?
No, it did not say preview.

To be fair, menu security is just fine if you live in the Windows NT world that it was built for. Our world, however, has evolved beyond its design limitations so it is (ahem) a real mess.
In this vein, there was a time I would intentionally go into the URL and delete the part that said
&layerNames=MyLayerName
in order to test the base layer.

You can hack a lot with the URL… Including switching company or site. (Now an actual feature I think?)
FYI it’s not layerVersion - that seems like it is always zero.
As far as I know/can see they removed the layer name from the URL, I think they did it in 2025.1 but it is not there in 2025.2 so testing baser is no longer possible this way. It was nice, like launching with Customization mode turned on so you could test/demo to support that Yes, it is very much broken in Base, not just my custom.
Booooo.
I get how it is not needed and really I agree with this move because I do not want any of my users to figure it out and circumvent my customization on AR Invoice entry that requires them to enter XYZ.
But… it was nice.
What about the… well I call it the DLL. Below it would be Ice.UIDbd.TimePhase10. That gone, too?

Because it’s a really easy way to find the report ID when you didn’t name the thing and it does not match the title… hypothetically.
The current URL for Job Entry in 2025.2.10:
(https://SERVERNAME/INSTANCENAME/Apps/ERP/Home/#/view/JCGO3001?channelid=CHANNELIDSTRING&layerVersion=0&baseAppVersion=0&useBroadcast=1&company=COMPANY-ID&site=SITE-ID&pageId=Details&pageChanged=true)
Yes, they removed the app dll name and now it is just the Menu ID.
sigh
Again, I can see the reasoning and benefits. But… rats.
Good to know, thank you.
