Link user to employee

Hello,

We are confused about how to correctly link a user to an employee.

The relation can be defined both in the User Account and in the Employee.

We have specific users that should be linked to a single employee. We also have generic users that we created for the MES and for the Epicor Mobile Warehouse applications.

On which side should the relation be defined?

We set ours in the User Account Maintenance and for our MES user that is shared we don’t set an employee.

If a relationship is set in User Account Security Maintenance, that Employee ID will always and only be available for that UserID. If that employee ID logs into Data Collection or MES, they will need to enter their Epicor Desktop UserID and password.
