2 cents worth.
Just installed Red Hat v. 8 on an older Dell PC. Installation was as easy if
not easier than a typical Windows install. Even automatically detected and
configured my cable modem using USB cable.

I'm ready as soon as it's officially supported. However, I would
rather run FreeBSD. It's much mmore stable in my experience, and has
much better documentation than any Linux distro I have seen.
