Lot Pricing and UOM

We frequently send out batches of parts for some form of subcontract operation (plating, painting, etc), where the supplier provides us pricing as a single lot, rather than unit price per piece.

The lot sizes are variable. Could be 10, 100, 1000, etc. Any quantity is possible.

Without creating a UOM and UOM Conversion for every possible lot size, is there any way to accomplish this? I’m curious what others have done in a situation like this.

Thanks

Have had the same challenge at previous jobs and never have found a good way to handle it. I am eager as you for some solution.

We don’t have a good solution either. I think we start a PO with no pricing on it, or maybe placeholder pricing. Then we leave the PO open so that we can update the pricing after all the parts come back. No one likes this process, but it works for now.

most of our subcontract suppliers have minimum charges so we will break it as such:
250.00 min. charge
10 ea = $25
100 ea = $2.50
so on this gets us close on most PO’s
