I understand that Mass Issue to Mfg performs the issuance of materials job by job. Currently we handle many work orders and when issuing materials for all work orders it takes a long time due to the quantity.
Does anyone on the forum have any ideas on how to do the Issue Mass to Mfg for multiple jobs?
Might it just be easier to consider Backflushing materials? It’s a pretty big hammer, but it you want to automate material issuing that would be something to look at.
So what is the right way to improve the Mass Issue material to Mfg
You would have to write a custom program.
I agree with Ernie’s first suggestion of using the backflushing of the materials. However, if that doesn’t suit your needs, instead of looking at a customization of the Mass Issue, you could consider the use of the DMT, Issue Material. It would require some prep work to identify the materials on the Jobs and the creation of an appropriate template but may be easier than a customization.
