Mattec Advanced MES - Machines

We haven’t started using Mattec, but we are investigating.

Someone asked the following:
If we have two physical machines and we represent them as one Resource in Epicor, can Mattec read the data from both machines and consolidate it so it can be mapped to the single Epicor Resource?
How does it do that?
If it can be done, should we, or is this suboptimal?

Hi Brian,
We are in the same Investigating mode. Have you asked Epicor team this question?

Wondering what the answer is myself.

Thanks.
Brad

Answer I received from MATTEC contact.

The question is what data do you want to read from each machine even though its one resource in ERP. If you are looking to measure efficiency for each machine then we would configured it as two machine in ADV MES and require 2 licenses. If you want to know if each machine is in a run/down state and what parts it produced then chances are we can do this as one licenses in ADV MES.

*Questions? *
What kind of machines are you referring to?
What data from each machine is required?
Is there one PLC controlling both machines or separate PLC’s? What is the PLC?
