Hello everyone,
Some of my colleagues complain that they can’t see certain menus.
However, those menus are set to Allow Access to All Groups/Users.
What kind of problem is this?
Thanks in advance!

Does the menu item above also have all access allowed?
Do you have anything in the Disallow Access tab?
The access settings for this menu are as shown in the screenshot below. All are accessible, there is no Disallow. However, some people cannot access it. What’s even more strange is that even with the same access settings, some menus appear well and some menus do not appear.
Do they have access to the General Ledger folder where it lives? I know we have restricted that to only one user group as there is some pretty volatile functions in there.
As you said, I searched Security in the General Ledger folder and found something interesting. The General Ledger folder was set to allow access only to certain groups.
What I did know was that the menu’s Security takes priority over the folder’s Security. Is that incorrect?
Does the security of the folder take precedence over the security of the menu?
Yes, the security ID of the top level folders usually flows down to the sub folders, and then to most of the items in them. We create new security ID’s to allow specific access to that menu item or sub folder, but everyone has a slightly different approach. I’m just going by what I inherited from the Vantage 6 days as all of our user groups have been migrated across from the older systems.
Thanks for your insight. My curiosity has been answered
