Hi,

I have a general question about deploying MES customizations to new workstations. Is there an easy way to point a workstation to an MES customization without having to go to each workstations default.mfgsys file and updating the MESCustomMenuID field? I was thinking a startup script is the best for this?

Thanks,

Ted
When you run clientzipinstaller is has fields to include your mfgsys files in the release client, so new stations get the info on install.

I have 32 and 64bit scripts that IT runs when we have permissions issues with Windows 7 to recopy the mfgsys files.

A startup script would be the only way to update the file if the Epicor client is already installed though?

Just change the version in the mfgsys on the server and it will
automatically trigger the clients to update to the 'new' version.
We usually set it to something like 9.05.600-NewMES or something like that.

Note that this will cause all the clients to run a full update just like if
you loaded a patch. It can take a few minutes on slower machines/networks
but it works like a top.

Do you mean change the default.mfgsys file in the client folder on the server?

Makre sure you fix the mfssys file inside tour ReleazeClient first, or
you'll transfer the wrong one again.
