Messages During Licensing 2024.2.4 On-Prem Demo

So I got these two messages when licensing demo companies on 2024.2.4, new on-prem install.

I have never seen these messages ever before. Has anyone else and what are these “complex and immediate” setups needed???

I’ve seen this before, just not on the demo db. CRM requires task sets, win/lost tasks, etc. to get started. I’ve never setup AMM, but I’m guessing there’s some fields that are required as well.

I would imagine the Demo DB would be fine.

As mentioned first time I have seen it, and has not happened on earlier versions.

So it was an unexpected message and a Url to the related documention would be appreciated. Epicor idea I suppose.

I’ve seen it when doing my Dev 2024.1 upgrade with modules I already own AND are setup. I’d ignore them if you’ve done the setup already. I suspect there’s no way to know for sure if the setup is complete, so the warning just appears if the license has that module enabled.

I’d still like to know a bit more information… I must have been asleep when I did 2024.1…

I mean all of a sudden after years we get this popup… Someone had to have spent valuable development time on this.

My guess is that new customers who added the module consumed too much support time that it was worth putting the warning into the code. :person_shrugging:

I’ll throw my hat in with @Mark_Wonsil and @MikeGross. Before you can even add part numbers, AMM requires you to have certain settings in the Site Configuration program (which therefore requires you to ALREADY have created a warehouse and a bin). Before you can create customers, you have to have a Sales Territory, a Work Force entry, and various Marketing data setups.

I’ll even go further with

because these are the types of calls where the support reps are the ones smacking the palm to the forehead.

Understand it totally if it were not the demo database, just does mot make sense, whatever the condition check is, it probably be a bit more thorough than check the licence flag, but that’s just me, and was probably one of these “Throw support a bone” jobs, with little thought to the more OCD amongst us. :joy:
