Has anyone tried to use Netmeeting to connect to their on site
workstation through a proxy server? How difficult was it to
implement?

I use pcAnywhere and have to wait for screen to redraw. Quite
frustrating. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've given up on PCAnywhere, NetMeeting, VNC and most likely others I can no
longer recall.

I've found "GoToMyPC" to be the easiest to deal with.

Thanks for the tip. I'll use their free trial and check it out.

Another option we're researching is Virtual Private Networking (?).
My understanding is home PC can become a node on network, then
Netmeeting can be used.

Lonnie,

Please let me know what client side software you use to connect to your corp

We have Virtual Private Networking set up on the server (VPN). That way I
can connect through my ISP, and tunnel into our network. It is as
transparent as having a direct dial in to the server. Anything which works
on the local network then works on the wide network (from home). Netmeeting,
Terminal Server thin client etc all work.

Hi All,

Is anyone using "diskeeper 7.0 server" and if so do you run it with the
database running or stopped? Also has it impacted the performance of
Vantage?

Thanks,

Ron,

I use Diskeeper 7.0 for the workstations, but not the servers. I stopped
running Diskeeper continuously on the workstations, because of the big
performance hit. Now, I set it to defrag at night and leave the ws's at the
login prompt (NT40 & W2K). I'm curious about how it works on servers, but
haven't had the time to look into it yet. Otherwise it works great. I'd
like to know too, how it does with Vantage - or on any server for that
matter.
