It really depends on what version they are on, & how "clean" their data is.
We went from M2K 6.2E (several versions back), our BOM's were not "clean", we did not use routing's, so we basically migrated our customers, customer ship to's, vendors, vendor purchase points, parts master, and cost-quantity tables. We then spent a considerable amount of time "cleaning" that data, (in the exported templates, which were then imported into Vantage), then building our BOM's & MOM's & configurators in Vantage (8.03) We started our migration in April 08, went live Aug 1, 2009.
as a side note, we decided to go ahead & upgrade to Epicor 9 before going live, rather than go live in 8.03 & upgrade to Epicor 9 at a later date.
our biggest issue was time management, working on the new system, while doing our normal daily business duties.
If they are migrating everything, it may be easier.

I have no idea yet as to how customized the installation is. I will be going there is a couple of weeks to get a better feel for things. The largest issue I have is that they have to be up and running by the 1st of the year. They will lose access to the Manage 2000 at that time. I am not really sure it can be done in that time frame. It will be painful for all involved and then some I am afraid. Lots of long hours coming up..
