Financial Analyst/Cost Accountant

Company Overview:

Position Reports To:
Company Key Financial Person - Controller

Position Overview:
Applies principles of finance and cost accounting to analyze past
and present financial operations and estimates future revenues and
expenditures. Analyzes records of present and past operations,
trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative
commitments, and obligations incurred to project future revenues and
expenses. Advises management on matters, such as effective use of
resources and assumptions underlying budget forecasts. Interprets
budgets to management. Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and
prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual
production costs. Provides management with reports specifying and
comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or
services.

Essential Functions:
The essential functions specific to this position include:

1. Provide monthly financial and costing analysis/review to
operations and Divisional management.
2. Participate in budgeting and forecast processes.
3. Involvement in the month-end closing process including
journals and general ledger activities.
4. Assist operations and divisional management with on-site
decision-making, which will include travel to the individual sites.
5. Aid in preparing and managing the physical inventory and
cycle counting programs.
6. Assist with inventory control & management issues including
physical inventory discrepancies.
7. Involved with the development of standard costing of multi-
plant production and integrating with financial systems. Responsible
for ongoing maintenance of standard costs.
8. Provide analytical support for new product development,
changes to the manufacturing processes and labor efficiency issues.
9. Development & preparation of management reports including
manufacturing variance analysis and comparisons of actual versus
forecast, prior year, and budget.
10. From Aid in preparing and managing the physical inventory
and cycle counting programs to Prepare and manage physical inventory.
11. From Assist with inventory control and management issues
including physical inventory discrepancies to oversee cycle count
program and assist with physical inventory discrepancies.
12. Special projects as assigned.

Experience and Skills Required:
The following experience and skills will be necessary for success in
this position:

1. Manufacturing environment experience required, specifically
with standard costing knowledge.
2. Must work effectively with others, participate in teams, and
have the ability to relate well with all levels of the organization
(hourly employees to management).
3. Must have leadership skills, solid analytical aptitude and
be a self starter requiring little direction.
4. Advanced user of MS Office products with strong PC skills
and ERP aptitude.
5. Experience with Epicor Software's (www.epicor.com) Vantage
ERP product or similar system a plus.
6. Solid experience with the preparation of budgets and support
of monthly close process.
7. Experience with budgeting software Prophix (www.prophix.com)
a plus.
8. BS in Accounting/Finance with 3+ years progressive
experience in manufacturing cost, financial accounting and financial
analysis.

Salary:
The salary range is $50,000 to $60,000 depending on experience.
