The company I am currently working with is, in some ways, a start-up.
E.g.: many of the Jobs that are going through the shop are do not have all Materials called out on the job.
When the line needs a missing part, we have logistics doing a quick check to see if the PartNum is on the Job/Asm in order to be issued.
If it is not there, they are currently logging the Job/Asm/Part Qty.
The result of this is that the data is not validated in the log and therefore requires substantial research and scrubbing before the material can be ‘added’ to the job, then ‘issued’.
We are looking for a way to capture the Missing material within Epicor (UD Table/Form), but I want the data entry to be validated by the user being able to lookup the Assembly and related JobNum, then lookup the PartNum, automatically populate the primary warehouse and bin as the From WarehouseCode and FromBinNum. Ideally, the result is a table which is 90% DMT ready.
How to do this in Application Studio?
Is there a better way to capture these exceptions with data validation at entry?
